Polo Tournament

Although our teams were of a similar ability I had to divide them into division A and B. Our A team, Emily (UVI Form), Isabella (Form V) and Kitty (Form IV) were first to compete in the arena. Matched against two really established and experienced teams they had some hard work ahead of them. Both chukkas were hard fought, with an incredible defence by our team, blocking the St George’s players at every opportunity.

Against St Mary’s, Heathfield showed amazing team skills and speed by keeping up and giving the opposition an exciting ‘run for their money’. The chukkas were really exciting to watch and the team work was fantastic.

Heathfield B Team, Victoria (Form III), Angelina and Emma (both Form IV) played against St Mary’s and Salesian. They came out with all guns blazing and took control of their chukkas from the start. Some great team work amongst the girls established their dominance from the throw in, with our first goal coming in the first 10 seconds of play. They won both of their chukkas with ease. The A team were a credible 3rd in their division and the B team won theirs with ease. Victoria was awarded MVP which is an incredible honour, as she was chosen from a field of 18 players of which over half came from long lines of established polo playing families.
