Christmas Cakes 2014

Casual remarks were cast by the girls concerning colours, but there were no in depth discussions with the teachers about designs. So it has been with great excitement that Mrs Blackburn and Ms Fairclough have seen the cakes be decorated and evolve. Over the final 2 weeks of term the UVI Leiths girls have worked hard in the cookery room, in Leiths lessons and free time. The results are a triumph.

All the cakes are finished to a very high standard technically and are wonderfully imaginative, colourful and original.

As the competition had only five categories, and Mrs Blackburn and Ms Fairclough thought all the girls should have been winners, they gave all Leiths UVI students two merits each.

The results of the competition, as judged by all the staff, were:

Most Technically Ambitious cake: Emily S

Most Technically Proficient cake: Bella

Most Creative cake: Lily

Most Traditional cake: Holly

Most Modern cake: Billie
