We assess students throughout the academic year in their work in order to continually monitor their progress. In addition, there is an assessment week every term. The results of these assessments are communicated to parents through parents’ meetings and half termly reports. The reports are either a short report containing effort, assessment and termly assessed grades or a full report containing detailed comments regarding student progress.
Sport plays an extremely important role in the life of all students at Heathfield. We are proud that every child has the opportunity to represent the school in competitive fixtures including Lacrosse, Netball and Swimming in the Michaelmas and Lent terms and Athletics, Cricket and Tennis in the Summer term.
We are increasingly widening the range of sports available at Heathfield within our curriculum and co-curriculum programme. Our Activity Weeks at the end of each half term ensure each student finds a sport or physical activity that they are passionate about.
We encourage students to appreciate and understand the values of co-operation, communication and self-discipline. We aim to meet each individual childs’ needs through our wide and varied programme of activities, with an emphasis on physically educating the students to have an understanding of the importance of having a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
In Forms I to III, students participate in 210 minutes of curriculum PE a week where they learn and develop not only sport specific sporting skills but also the importance of life skills such as teamwork, decision-making and leadership.
In addition there are a host of co-curricular activities and clubs. View more information about our Co-Curricular Programme by clicking the button below.
