The sun shone as we gathered in our beautiful Chapel for our Confirmation Service.
Our candidates, Ari, Flo, Zoe and Molly, were supported by family, friends and members of staff. The Right Reverend Henry Scriven, the honorary assistant Bishop of Oxford led our service. Bishop Henry has served as a Bishop in Europe and North America.
The Choir sang beautifully, leading us in our hymns and in the responses to the Eucharistic Prayer, and singing the anthem Panis Angelicus. The Bishop’s sermon described the moment followers of Jesus met with the Risen Lord on the road to Emmaus, and the transforming effect this encounter had on them.
As the service concluded, the girls were given lit candles by the Headmistress symbolising the step they had made, as the congregation encouraged them to Shine as a light in the world to the glory of God the Father.
It was a very special and memorable occasion.
