Scholarships and Bursaries

Heathfield offers Academic, Art, Drama, Music and Sport scholarships at 11+, 13+ and 16+ entry.  These are open to both internal and external candidates.   Scholarships are worth £750 per annum in remission of fees.

All scholarships are awarded on merit and take place at the same time as the entrance examinations. Sixth Form scholarships take place in February, and Form I and Form III entry in November of the year preceding entry.

The deadline for Sixth Form entry is Lent half-term, and October for Form I and Form III entry.

Scholarships for Form I and Form III entry last until the end of Form V.  Scholars can re-apply for their scholarship to be extended into the Sixth Form.  Scholarships for Sixth Form last until the end of Sixth Form.

Our scholarships are not means-tested.

If scholarships are not awarded in any year this will be due to candidates not meeting in full the required standards.  The School reserves the right not to award scholarships in a particular year where this is the case.

All applications for bursaries are considered on the basis of individual circumstances and are means-tested.

Entrance Bursaries are for new applicants to the School for any year group.  Every applicant must meet the School’s admission criteria.  Parents must have registered their daughter and paid the registration fee. Parents must be domiciled in the UK.

Entrance Bursaries may be awarded in the form of a discount of up to 100% on boarding and tuition fees payable depending on the financial, compassionate or other pertinent circumstances of applicants. The costs of all “Extras” must be paid in full by the pupil’s parents.

On account of the limited funds available to the School, not every eligible application for a bursary will be successful. Bursaries can be applied for in addition to a scholarship or on their own.

Applications for financial support are also considered for girls already at Heathfield, where there is a change of family circumstance, or sudden and unforeseen need leading to financial difficulty. Bursaries are not automatically carried through to Sixth Form.

Application forms are available from the Bursar, Mrs Rachel Frier – bursar@heathfieldschool.net or from the Registrar – registrar@heathfieldschool.net.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the Bursar to discuss matters in confidence so she can assist and guide your application.

In addition Heathfield School makes the following discounts available:

  • Diplomatic service – 10% available for five girls
  • Armed forces – 20% available for five girls
  • Siblings – 5% for second and each subsequent sister

A clergy discount is also available.

Further information on scholarships, bursaries and discounts is available from the Registrar – registrar@heathfieldschool.net.
