For five out of the last seven years (2009-2015), Heathfield has been awarded the Good Schools Guide Award for Best A Level Results of any English School, in the state or independent sector, for Art (Art and Design, Photography). “Our View: Unique now in offering traditional, full boarding for lucky girls in a close, happy, small community with all mod cons and opportunities. Sensible, sound and super.”
University of the Arts London
The school’s supreme excellence in the creative arts was also recognised in 2014 with the approach by and subsequent progression partnership with the University of the Arts London (UAL) and, specifically, the London College of Fashion at UAL. Heathfield is the first school in the UK to be approached for such a partnership by the UAL. Partnerships are normally reserved for outstanding Further Education arts facilities. The partnership began in September 2014.
Heathfield joined in 2011 and since then it has been embraced by students and staff alike with the school achieving Bronze status in the 2011/12 academic year and Silver status in the 2012/2013 academic year. The school is currently starting its drive to reach Eco-Schools’ highest accolade, the externally assessed Green Flag Award.
The current Eco Committee are looking at undertaking new projects while maintaining the great work already being carried out within the school.
At Heathfield we currently recycle plastic, paper, cans, cardboard, batteries, books, stationery, cooking oil, clothes, light bulbs and printer inks & cartridges. We are always on the lookout for new opportunities and ways to recycle more items.
