From 11 – 14 May, Form III and IV students studying Spanish visited Cordoba in Southern Spain. The only city in the world that has four Declarations included in the World Heritage List: Cathedral Mosque, Historic Center, Patios Festival and Medina Azahara.

Cordovans celebrate the annual Courtyard Festival and Contest, which is when the beautiful courtyards of their homes are open to the public. Everyone has the chance to view the architectural treasures that are typical of Cordoba – the so-called Patios. And so, we did!

The students tasted some of the wide variety of dishes Cordoba has to offer. The Cordovan gastronomy and restaurants are rich in the history of the different civilizations that have passed through these lands. Students also enjoyed a tour of La Juderia (the historic centre) in a horse-drawn carriage and were serenaded by La Tuna, a group of university musicians.

Most importantly, students took every opportunity to practice the language.
