On 21 May, the Heathfield School community came together to mark the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development through a vibrant and engaging Culture Day celebration.
The week was launched with a special Assembly led by Form IV on cultural diversity and communication etiquette, providing a valuable opportunity for everyone to learn about different gestures and practices from around the world. The Heathfield’s Wall of Identity mural was also launched, with students invited to decorate a brick with images and ideas representing their culture and identity.
The day itself featured a delicious, themed lunch with dishes from across the globe, alongside activities such as energetic Bollywood dancing, creative Ankara print scrunchie making and engaging Spanish games and challenges. It was a delight to see students dressed proudly in their cultural attire, embracing all that was on offer.
The celebrations culminated at the end of the week with a Staff versus Student Culture Day Cricket match, honouring British culture with Pimm’s mocktails and scones, bringing the week to a fitting and festive close.
