It was a long evening but certainly a rewarding one as we took home a number of medals, special awards and certificates! Georgie (Form III) proudly got a gold medal and the Beechwood Junior Brass Award for her performance on the horn playing I’ve Got Rhythm by Gershwin. Matilda (Form IV) performed with grace on the euphonium and was awarded silver. Emma (Form III) was awarded second prize in the woodwind solo category while Lizzy (Form IV) and Ellie (Form III) both were awarded a bronze in the brass solo category. Our brass ensemble also was awarded a silver. Thea-Rose (UVI Form) mesmerised the judge and audiences with her impeccable performance on the cello playing Rachmaninoff’s Cello and Piano Sonata, Op. 19, 2nd movement and was awarded an Outstanding Award and the John Callan trophy for best performance in the string solo classes. Congratulations to all the girls.
