This term, our IV Form Drama students completed their Component 1 devised performances, creating and performing original pieces inspired by influential theatre practitioners Bertolt Brecht and Emma Rice.

Throughout the process, students explored a range of theatrical techniques and styles, using these influences to shape imaginative, engaging and thought-provoking performances of their own.

The devising process required students to work collaboratively, develop creative ideas, respond to feedback and adapt their performances through rehearsal and refinement. They approached these challenges with maturity, resilience and enthusiasm, demonstrating not only growing confidence as performers, but also the ability to think critically and work effectively as a team.

We are incredibly proud of the commitment, creativity and determination shown by all students. Their performances reflected a huge amount of hard work and showcased skills that are increasingly valuable both within the arts and beyond, including communication, collaboration, adaptability and creative problem-solving. Well done to everyone involved for producing such original and successful work.
