We are absolutely delighted to announce that our students have won three categories in the ISA Regional Art Competition, announced earlier this week, with a further two students receiving highly commended awards!

This is an outstanding achievement for our students, who worked incredibly hard to create their pieces and demonstrated exceptional creativity, skill and dedication.

Martha took first place in the KS5 Textiles category with her intricate and thought-provoking piece, ‘Do we All Suffer with Dementia?’ Sofia also secured first place, winning the KS5 Fashion category with ‘Sentient Beings (The Crab)’ – a stunning garment featuring statement sleeves and intricate beadwork. Molly’s highly textured ‘Proof of Life’ study was awarded first place in the KS4 Drawing category.

Savannah and Amber were also recognised, receiving highly commended awards for their entries in the KS5 Drawing and KS3 Sculpture categories respectively.

Angela Farrugia, Head of Art, was thrilled with the students’ success, commenting:

“Having so many of our students recognised in the prestigious ISA Art Competition is a remarkable achievement. I am immensely proud of every student whose work was entered, as each piece reflects outstanding creativity and commitment on their part.

“The ISA exhibition is always an inspiring event, showcasing artwork of the highest calibre from schools across the country. To see so many Heathfield students receiving recognition amongst such strong competition is a wonderful accomplishment and highlights the exceptional standard of work they are producing.

“Their success is thoroughly deserved and further reinforces the fact that the quality, ambition and maturity of their artwork are truly beyond their years.”

Very best of luck to Martha, Sofia and Molly as they progress to the National Finals in November. We’ll be cheering you on – watch this space!
