The Heathfield Sixth Form experience is about far more than academics. It is about preparing students to be confident individuals, fully equipped to live and lead in the future. Our school is rich with sporting, dramatic, artistic, and musical opportunities, supported by a seven-day co-curricular programme packed with activities that encourage students to explore an existing passion or try something entirely new. It is not unusual to see a student play for the First team in Lacrosse, take the lead in the school play, and challenge themselves by participating in the Model United Nations – all in the same term.
Alongside their chosen A Levels, every student is entered for the Heathfield Leadership Award. Assessed across six distinct strands, this programme develops core leadership qualities, with students earning the award at Pass, Merit, or Distinction level. These strands challenge them to step outside their comfort zones, mentor younger peers, and deepen their practical understanding of leadership. As part of the award framework, students have the opportunity to secure valuable qualifications outside the classroom. These options include LAMDA, the Leiths Culinary School Level 3 Extended Certificate, Music Grades, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award, Young Health Champions, the Diploma in French Language Studies (DELF), and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)—all of which significantly enrich and enhance our students’ profiles.
