All the students were enthusiastic and demonstrated genuine interest in the culture, architecture, art and history that make Córdoba so famous. They sampled the diverse array of dishes that the city has to offer, with its cuisine influenced by the various civilizations that have inhabited the region. Additionally, they enjoyed a tour of La Judería, the Historic Center. 

More importantly, the students took every opportunity to practice their language skills and actively participated in all the activities. On the final night, they bid farewell to Córdoba by attending a Flamenco show, where they had the opportunity to dance and showcase the skills they had been practicing in an after-school club. It was a delight to take this group to my hometown.

 Cordovans celebrate the annual Courtyard Festival and Contest, which is when the beautiful courtyards of their homes are open to the public. Everyone has the chance to view the architectural treasures that are typical of Cordoba – the so-called Patios. And so, we did! 

 The students tasted some of the wide variety of dishes Cordoba has to offer. The Cordovan gastronomy and restaurants are rich in the history of the different civilizations that have passed through these lands. Students also enjoyed a tour of La Juderia (the historic centre) in a horse-drawn carriage and were serenaded by La Tuna, a group of university musicians.  

 Most importantly, students took every opportunity to practice the language.
