Fashion Show

Jenny (Form III) won the prize for the best dressed girl for the day and Mr Grey won the staff prize for his white hat. At the Fashion Show itself, the stars of the show were obviously the garments that the girls made, shown against a backdrop of moving icebergs as the snow cap melts for the summer. The Fashion Show was a huge success and the garments looked stunning. It is a real delight to see our young designers put their stamp and their look on the show. Mr Alves Khan’s vision was to create a show where the décor was kept simple, clean and white and where the focus was entirely on the clothes themselves. The models managed very successfully to focus our attention on the clothes  by keeping to simple, straightforward, no fuss moves. The atmosphere was electric. We were fortunate to have Mr Johnson, Mrs Russell-Smith and Mrs Pincus, who all work in the fashion industry, to judge the Fashion Show. They made a special mention of several garments that stood out for their quality and originality, but the winner of the Fourth Form was Gabi, the winner of the Fifth Form was Mei, and the overall winner was Chinenye (Form V). We would like to congratulate the girls as well as Mr Alves Khan and Mrs Rutili for all their hard work and support as well as Miss White, Alice and Issy (both UVI Form) for the photography and Mr Parmenter, Drama Technician, for his projection, lighting and sound.
