Austen and Somerville Weekend, 27th and 28th June 2015

Everyone was extremely lucky as the queues were short and everyone got to experience lots of the rides. The weather was kind, sunny with a cool breeze. Everyone had a fantastic and fun day for their last weekend at school before the end of term.

Austen House had arranged a relaxed final Sunday in school. For the more active members there was benchball in the morning whilst those wanting a quiet day took advantage of the movie marathon in the SMaT. Plans for a barbeque were scuppered by the inclement weather, but after eating our burgers and hotdogs inside, the girls assembled for the much anticipated water fight. The battle was rather tribal with the different Houses competing. Whilst there was no clear winner, Mr Valner was certainly the loser with the girls uniting against a common enemy, vanquishing their foe with several water bombs, guns and worst of all buckets of water. Thanks to Austen and Somerville staff for such an entertaining day.
