Resident Teaching Housemistress and Deputy Director of Boarding

Start date: September 2018

Heathfield is embarking on an exciting period of development within boarding, starting with a change to the boarding model. The successful candidate will play a significant role in the implementation of this change as the first, and most senior, teaching Housemistress in a distinct boarding House.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding professional with strong personal skills and a proven track-record as a teacher and boarding practitioner. The successful candidate will play a key role in the life of this vibrant boarding school, being the senior residential member of staff, reporting to the Director of Boarding.  The successful applicant will teach a reduced timetable. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Resident Scholar


Fixed term contract from September 2018 until the beginning of July 2019.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual, preferably a recent graduate or person with equivalent experience, to the post of Resident Scholar.

In this position, you will primarily work in boarding, assisting in the supervision of boarders. You’ll also contribute to our co-curricular programme and assist with administrative duties, organise trips and events and liaise with parents. Duties will include a variety of daytime, evening and weekend work, including in-class support for pupils, if appropriate.

This position can serve as an excellent springboard into teaching or other child centred careers.

Two Part Time Housekeeping Cleaners

Start date: March/April 2018

£8.77 per hr, Monday to Friday, 5.00am until 8.30am
£11.20 per hr, Saturday, 5.00am until 8.30am
